I have now setup homebridge as a systemd service, but it still won't show up in the Home app. The Bonjour Discovery app also doesn't seem to find the HomeBridge, or anything like it now. Yes, I'm on the same WIFi (and actually physically 1m away from the Pi with my iPhone), and I have deleted the /persist and /accessories folders and restarted HomeBridge multiple times. 2nd line: int res EthernetBonjour.addServiceRecord('test.http', 80, MDNSServiceTCP, NULL) works sometimes. EthernetBonjour.begin('arduino') is ok - however I cant resolve arduino.local on my mac.

HomeBridge cannot be seen by the Home app. As soon as the code uses Bonjour things get mixed up. Then I tried "sed -i '/^use-ipv6=/s/=.*/=no/' nf /etc/avahi/nf" (after I actually manually changed that line in the nf.) and rebooted the Pi again.
That is, if the other device has Bonjour / Zeroconf installed too. This works most of the time, but there seems to be a) a big caching issue, where it doesn't realize there are new devices b) a problem with the WIFI, e.g. With Bonjour / Zeroconf activated on your Raspbian, its easy to reach your Raspberry Pi from other devices on your LAN: just use hostname 'raspberrypi.local' in your ssh / ping / browser, and it should work. Then I stepped out for a few hours and when I came back, the Home app wouldn't find the HomeBridge anymore! D'OH!!! 1 I am using NSNetServiceBrowser from Xamarin (former Mono Touch) to scan for bonjour devices. Apple, Bonjour, EtherTalk, TrueType, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iPod touch.

Aaaargh! After I "added ipv6.disable=1 to /boot/cmdline.txt to turn off V6" and rebooted the Pi, the Home app was able to see the HomeBridge, but would take forever to actually add it and eventually failed. PrintingScout, Walk-Up, WorkCentre, FreeFlow, SMARTsend, Scan to PC Desktop.
